“Each painting is a meeting point between instinct and soul, where strength becomes gentle and the unseen takes form.”

Hi,

I’M COLETTE, nice to have you here!

My work begins with animals, but it is never only about animals.

I paint them as messengers — carriers of something ancient, instinctive, and deeply familiar. Each portrait is less about capturing a likeness and more about revealing a presence: a character, a soul, a quiet force that seems to exist just beyond language.

I am drawn to vivid color and gold leaf because they behave like emotion and energy rather than pigment. Neon hues pulse with life, intuition, and joy; gold reflects light the way memory and meaning do — never fixed, always shifting with the viewer. Together, they create paintings that feel alive, changing throughout the day and from every angle.

My animals often meet the viewer’s gaze. This is intentional. I want the painting to look back — to create a relationship rather than serve as decoration. These figures are strong, sometimes wild, sometimes gentle, but always grounded. They hold space. They guard. They remind.

Much of my inspiration comes from the idea that nature is not separate from us, but a mirror of our inner world. In my paintings, strength coexists with softness, chaos with calm, intuition with control. I believe beauty does not need to be quiet to be profound, and power does not need to be loud to be felt.

Each piece is created intuitively, built through layers, splashes, and moments of surrender. I allow the painting to reveal itself rather than forcing it into being. What emerges is often something that feels symbolic — not in a literal sense, but in a universal one.

My work is for those who feel drawn to presence over perfection, energy over explanation. For those who want art that watches over a space, not just fills it.
